The Slaughterman's Daughter by Yaniv Iczkovits is a novel set in19th century czarist Russia and centers upon the journey of one young woman, highly skilled with a butcher knife which she keeps strapped to her leg as she seeks to find her deadbeat brother-in-law who abandoned her sister and their children.
